Sugar Patisserieis a local family business owned and operated by Giada Vacca and her husband Mic Fronteddu. After years of dedicated work as a biologist at the University of British Columbia, Giada decided to pursue her long-time dream of owning a cakeshop. In October 2018, Giada opened the doors at Sugar Patisserie, carrying on the tradition of quality and excellence inherited from Pastry Chef Caitlin Mayo.
Giada’s passion is baking: from the delicate taste of amaretti (inspired from her Italian homeland), to the classic French pastries, to decadent custom cakes and wedding cakes. Since 2015, Giada has been sharing the gift of “making baked goods beautiful” by offering cookie and cake decorating classes to bakers of all ages.
